In 2016 he arrives at the completion of the project chair “Feather” by Piero Lissoni, one of the most daring and revolutionary products in the evolution of the technologies and materials used by Kartell. Thanks to a sophisticated Kartell injection molding technology has managed to bring the seat to a minimum of a few millimeters thickness (maximum 2 mm) for a result of a lightweight seat (just 2.2 kg). It ‘the first time that a carbon fiber containing material is injection-molded and moreover for an aesthetic and design product. Thanks to this unusual mix of materials, not only feather is light and thin, but also incredibly durable, flexible and suitable for use outdoors.
